Brenton Strange and Juice Scruggs now have something else in common other than attending Penn State. They both can now say that they were taken in the second round of the 2023 NFL Draft.

Strange went 61st overall to the Jacksonville Jaguars and Scruggs went 62nd overall to the Houston Texans.

Strange appeared in 32 games from 2019-2022. He brought in 70 receptions for 755 yards receiving and 11 touchdowns during his time in State College. Nittany Lions fans may remember Strange’s insane touchdown against Northwestern last season where he hurdled a defender. Strange brought in a career-high 5 touchdowns in 2022.

Scruggs held his own on the offensive line for Penn State. Scruggs started 13 games at center for the Nittany Lions.

Another Penn State player was taken in the second round as well. Joey Porter Jr. was one of the first people selected at the beginning of the second round. That makes it three former Penn State players drafted on Friday alone.
