Brenton Strange had a strong year as Penn State’s leading receiving option at the tight end position in 2022. Now, the former 4-star prospect in the 2018 recruiting class is ready to head to the NFL.

Tuesday evening, Strange announced his plans to head for the 2023 NFL Draft. However, Strange is intent on finishing out the season by playing for the Nittany Lions in the Rose Bowl.

“I give all praise to God,” Strange wrote in his announcement. “I thank him for giving me the opportunity to live out my dreams of playing collegiate football. After conversation with my loved ones and coaches, I have decided to forego my senior season and declare for the 2023 NFL Draft…

“I am looking forward to being with the Penn State football family one last time and competing in the Rose Bowl.”

During the 2022 season, Strange finished third on the Nittany Lions and led all PSU tight ends with 32 catches for 362. His 5 receiving touchdowns led the team during the regular season.

With Theo Johnson likely to be back in 2023, Penn State is still in a good position at TE moving forward. Best of luck to Strange as he makes the leap to the NFL.
