Penn State is trying to mount a comeback in the Citrus Bowl, but it will now have to do so without one of its best defenders.
Linebacker Cam Brown was ejected just after halftime for a hit on Kentucky wide receiver Lynn Bowden Jr. The call on the field was reviewed and upheld.
It is certainly a big loss and a tough blow to the Nittany Lions defense. While it did not appear the targeting hit was intentional, replays clearly showed helmet-to-helmet contact at the end of the play.
The call was also a big one as it set Kentucky up with good field position. The Wildcats would not waste it, capping off the drive with a Benny Snell touchdown.
