Home-field advantage might be considered underrated to some, but to others, it could be the difference between a win and a loss.

ESPN commentator Chris Fowler recently gave his thoughts on which team has the best home-field advantage in the B1G. While programs like Michigan, Michigan State, and Ohio State have stadiums such as “The Big House” or “The Horseshoe,” few atmospheres compare to Beaver Stadium in Penn State’s annual White Out game.

“It happens just one time a year, but it’s the best annual environment in college football,” Fowler said. “That show of unanimity by wearing the all-white and the support they have. The energy in that place. I’ve been so lucky to call so many White Out games.”

A tradition starting in 2004, Penn State has chosen one game each season as its staple matchup at Beaver Stadium to fill the stands in white. Some call it a good luck charm. Others call it a tradition. Either way, the program has posted a 9-8 record all-time in White Out performances, most recently picking up a 28-22 win over No. 22 Auburn last season in Week 3.

This season, the Nittany Lions will have their White Out game against B1G opponent Minnesota on Oct. 22. All-time Penn State holds the 9-6 lead over the Golden Gophers.
