Chris Godwin gets status update for Week 2 game against New Orleans Saints
Chris Godwin suffered a season-ending ACL injury last season. He is struggling to stay healthy this season so far as well.
Head coach Todd Bowles stated that Godwin is probably not going to be playing in Week 2 per Tampa Bay Times’ Rick Stroud. Godwin is listed as questionable for the game with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ division rival after a hamstring injury in Week 1.
“If I had to guess, he probably wouldn’t,” said Bowles on Friday.
Bowles said if WR Chris Godwin (hamstring) playing Sunday at New Orleans, “if I had to guess he probably wouldn’t.”

Godwin is coming off a great season last year despite his ACL injury late in the season. Godwin had 1,103 yards receiving and 5 touchdowns in 2021. Before his injury against the Dallas Cowboys, he caught 3 passes for 35 yards receiving.
The Buccaneers’ injuries to the WR room could prove painful against the Saints. Tom Brady has been known to struggle against the Saints in the past, and could be in for more problems on Sunday.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers and New Orleans Saints meet Sunday at 1 p.m. ET on FOX.
