College football world reacts to Indiana's thrilling upset win over No. 8 Penn State
As Penn State drove down the field late in the fourth quarter, it appeared as if Indiana’s chances at an upset of the No. 8 Nittany Lions was not possible.
But after a massive gaffe by a Penn State running back and some magic from the Indiana offense, the Hoosiers made the upset a reality and stunned the college football world.
Following a Nittany Lion touchdown, Indiana went on a seven-play, 75 yard drive in just 1:20 to tie the game. After a trio of incredible Hoosier catches, Michael Penix Jr. capped off the two-minute drill with a one-yard rush to make it a two-point game.
Penix once again used his legs to convert the conversion and tie the game at 28. The Hoosiers nearly gave Penn State a chance at winning it in regulation via a squib kick, but the Nittany Lions missed a long field goal.
In overtime, Penn State scored in just four plays to make it 35-28. Then, Indiana rallied with a five-play scoring drive. Then, the Hoosiers made the tough decision to go for the win and two-point conversion.
On a Penix run once again, Indiana converted but not without controversy as Penix just brushed the pylon to give the Hoosiers the win.
Here’s how the internet reacted to this bonkers game.
I've watched so many of these Indiana games over the years where they *come close* Nice to see them have some good fortune for once.
