Saturday’s season opener between Penn State and Wisconsin has been a grind early on, and the Nittany Lions came up with an early clutch play on special teams.

Through the first quarter plus, it has been a defensive grind with both teams trading blows in the trenches. With the defenses in a battle early on, points will be at a premium all day in Madison.

That makes this blocked field goal attempt by Arnold Ebiketie all the more important. It came on a 4th-and-goal and kept the game scoreless in the second quarter.

That block came at the end of a 15-play drive that covered more than 7 minutes. It’s a huge win for the Nittany Lions, but the Badgers might regret coming away scoreless on that possession.
