Some running backs may not enjoy sharing their backfield with anyone but not Penn State running back Devyn Ford. Rather than seeing it as a curse to share the backfield, Ford sees it as a blessing and as long they keep winning, Ford doesn’t seem to mind.
“One thing that I heard was comparison is a thief of joy,” Ford said
via Ben Jones with StateCollege.com. “And I don’t look at it that way. He has his own rules and its own path of life and I support him and respect him for everything that he’s done […] every day you just got to wake up with a positive attitude because you know it may not go your way or it may – but no matter what, as long as you a positive attitude and you keep looking at the other side of things no matter what position you’re in, it’s gonna be good.”
A member of the 2019 recruiting class, Ford’s usage has dwindled over the past two seasons. He has also been bypassed this season by a pair of freshman running backs, but Ford is trying to remain focused with a positive outlook.
Nicholas Singleton had a field day against Auburn rushing for 124 yards and 2 touchdowns including a 54-yard touchdown run.
The Nittany Lions ended up rushing for almost 300 yards total in that game, so you can understand why Ford isn’t concerned about the running back situation.
