Drew Allar was not available for Penn State’s offense as the Nittany Lions opened the 2nd half against Wisconsin. The absence does appear to be injury-related, and that’s a major concern.

Late in the 1st half, Allar was seen moving gingerly on the sidelines after an awkward tackle in the backfield. The NBC broadcast also captured Allar heading back to the locker room before the half even came to a close.

Concerns for Allar’s situation have certainly escalated now that he did not come out for the start of the 2nd half. Those in attendance pointed to a brace on his left knee and a noticeable limp at times while warming up.

Without Allar, Penn State has shifted to backup QB Beau Pribula leading the offense. While Pribula is an athletic runner, he is far from the same type of accurate and deep-ball passer that Allar has been.

For now, Penn State will have to try and avoid an upset loss to Wisconsin while hoping Allar’s injury is not a serious one.
