Eddie George recounts his love of Penn State growing up: 'Big Blue was my heart'
Oh, what could have been.
If Ohio State Heisman Trophy winner Eddie George had his way as a youngster, he would have been scoring touchdowns for Penn State instead of the Buckeyes. Of course, that didn’t happen due to the Nittany Lions misevaluating the bruising back coming out of high school. That miscalculation turned out to be Ohio State’s gain.
Of course, Penn State’s desire to move George to linebacker may have only fueled his fire more during his playing career in Columbus and led to his success as a Buckeye and later in the NFL.
George discussed his interest in Penn State coming out of high school with the Big Ten Network:
.@EddieGeorge2727, a Nittany Lion?
That’s what the eventual @OhioStateFB legend and 1995 Heisman winner wanted as a prep.
