Eli Manning undercover: Former NFL QB sneaks into Penn State walk-on tryouts
Eli Manning had some fun with the Penn State coaching staff. He transformed into “Chad Powers”, and snuck into the Penn State walk-on tryouts to relive his playing days.
Kendall Baker of Axios posted the video, but the video was from an episode of ‘Eli’s Places’. Manning had a wig on, and some sideburns that made him look like he was straight out of the 1970s.
One of his best lines from the clip was when someone asked him if he had played football before. His response was golden.
“I was homeschooled,” said Manning. “My mom was my coach and my teacher. She wasn’t very smart, but she was a good coach though.”
Manning ran the 40-yard dash, and did various passing drills with some of the coaches there. He ran a 5.49, which made James Franklin laugh, as it looks like he may have been in on the bit.
You can watch ‘Eli’s Places’ on Hulu, as the 2nd season is on the streaming service currently.
