Penn State is looking to end a rough season on a high note, taking on No. 21 Arkansas in the Outback Bowl to finish the year.

Overall, it was a very inconsistent year for James Franklin’s squad. The Nittany Lions did enough to hang around in every game, but they also came up just short a number of times, losing 4 games by 4 points or less.

Now, the bowl practices provide an opportunity for Penn State to try and turn the page quickly with an eye on 2022. It will also provide a chance for some younger players to get a chance to see game action with linebackers Brandon Smith and Ellis Brooks option to prepare for the NFL Draft.

Heading into the Outback Bowl, ESPN’s Football Power Index is still favoring Penn State in the matchup. According to the FPI, the Nittany Lions are given a 58.8% chance to beat the Razorbacks and get to 8-5 on the year.

Can Franklin and company send this team out with a win?
