ESPN’s Football Power Index (FPI) predicts how each college football game will go. The model’s predictions for Week 6 have now been released, including for the B1G matchup between UCLA and Penn State.

Unfortunately for UCLA fans, the model doesn’t give the Bruins much of a chance. FPI gives the Nittany Lions a 95.4% chance to win the game, meaning the Bruins are getting just a 4.6% chance on the road.

This season has not gone well for the Bruins so far. The team eked out a 3-point win over Hawaii in Week 1 and hasn’t won since. The Bruins have losses to Indiana, LSU, and Oregon already.

Already sitting at 0-2 in B1G play, the Bruins could use an upset win over the Nittany Lions in Week 6.

Penn State has not had many things go against them so far. The team dominated West Virginia and Kent State and earned hard-fought wins over Bowling Green and Illinois.

For a team that has College Football Playoff aspirations, the Nittany Lions need to stack up all the wins they can get.

Things only get tougher from here for Penn State. After this game, the team will take on No. 11 USC. No. 3 Ohio State is also still on the schedule in a game that should have CFP implications.

These teams have not played each other since 1968. UCLA has won 4 times in the series, while Penn State has won 2. Penn State won that most recent matchup back in 1968.

The new conference rivals will kick off from Beaver Stadium on Saturday at Noon ET.
