The newly hired head coach at Virginia Tech, Brent Pry, keeps adding to his staff. Pry keeps dipping into the well of his old stomping grounds at Happy Valley.

Pry has hired Tyler Bowen as his OC and TE coach. Bowen was previously the TE’s coach at Penn State from 2018-2020, and this past season he was the TE coach for the Jacksonville Jaguars.

This past season Penn State finished the season 7-6 and 4-5 in the B1G play. The Jaguars have just finished their season at 3-14 and fired Urban Meyer midseason after a multitude of off-field problems. Virginia Tech finished 6-7 and 4-4 in ACC play.

Virginia Tech fired Justin Fuente after 6 seasons on the job. Fuente finished with a record of 43-31.

Pry was the DC at Penn State before taking the head coaching gig at Virginia Tech. Virginia Tech will be looking to return to the top of the ACC and compete with Clemson and Pittsburgh in the 2022 season and beyond. Pry has also made Penn State head coach James Franklin’s job a lot harder because of all the coaches he has to replace that Pry has taken with him.

Virginia Tech opens up the 2022 season at Old Dominion on Saturday, Sept. 3.
