A former Penn State staffer is heading to the Sunshine State to join Guz Malzahn at UCF.

Herb Hand is heading to Orlando to be the offensive line at UCF. He joins the Knights’ staff after serving as the offensive line coach at co-offensive coordinator at Texas for the past three seasons. He was recently hired to coach the offensive line at Charlotte before taking the job with Malzahn.

Hand worked with Malzahn for two seasons at Auburn, where he was also the offensive line coach from 2016-17. Before his time at Auburn, Hand was on James Franklin’s staff at Vanderbilt and Penn State.

Hand was the offensive line coach at Vanderbilt from 2010-12 and added the title of run game coordinator in 2013. When Franklin was hired to be the head coach at Penn State in 2014, Hand followed to serve in his same role with the Nittany Lions.

Hand was at Penn State from 2014-15.
