Myreon Jones is leaving State College for Gainesville.

Wednesday, the former Penn State guard announced that he will be continuing his college basketball career at Florida. He entered the NCAA transfer portal following the coaching change in the offseason, when Penn State hired Micah Shrewsberry and did not retain Jim Ferry, last year’s interim head coach.

Jones posted an image on social media to confirm his decision.

Jones was one of multiple Nittany Lions to enter into the portal this offseason. Also this week, former Penn State forward Trent Buttrick announced that he has committed to UMass.

Jones was the team’s leading scorer at 15.3 points per game. He also averaged 2.7 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 1.3 steals per contest during the 2020-21 season.

In three seasons at Penn State, Jones averaged 10.4 points and 2.1 rebounds per game. He proved to be a consistent scorer for the Nittany Lions during his time with the program and will take plenty of experience with him to Florida.

Over the course of his career with the Nittany Lions, Jones appeared in 80 career games, making 48 starts. He will have two years of eligibility to use with the Gators.
