Juwan Johnson spent three seasons catching passes for Penn State before he decided it was time to find a new program to finish his career with during the 2019 offseason. And that decision has paid off for the former Nittany Lion.

On Saturday night, Johnson had one of the best performances of his entire career in Oregon’s 56-24 win over USC. Johnson hauled in seven catches for 106 yards and three touchdowns in the blowout victory. In his first three years at Penn State, Johnson had just two touchdown catches.

In one game, Johnson more than doubled his season totals. Before the game, he had six catches for 100 yards with no touchdowns. Granted, he missed the first four games of the season for the Ducks, but it was still an impressive feat.

Johnson tallied 1,123 yards and two touchdowns on 81 receptions in three years with the Nittany Lions. He was one of the teams top receivers in 2017, with 701 yards on 54 catches.

Thanks to Johnson’s big performance against USC, No. 7 Oregon now sits at 7-1 on the year with an excellent shot to reach the Pac-12 Championship Game and compete for a spot in the College Football Playoff.
