Former Penn State wide receiver TJ Jones has announced where he’ll be playing college football next.

Monday afternoon, Jones announced on Twitter that he has committed to the University of Alabama-Birmingham (UAB). The announcement comes after spending the previous two seasons at Penn State before entering his name into the NCAA transfer portal.

Jones was 3-star member of Penn State’s 2019 recruiting class out of Lake City, Florida. He played in just game as a true freshman in 2019, making his lone appearance in the Nittany Lions’ victory over Purdue. He was able to maintain his redshirt status.

Last season, Jones appeared in seven of Penn State’s nine games but did not record any statistics. The Nittany Lions ended the year with a 4-5 record.

Because the NCAA granted a blanket waiver for all fall student-athletes, Jones will still have all four years of eligibility to use at UAB.
