Penn State is adding another piece to its roster through the transfer portal.

Sunday, Jeff Borzello of ESPN reported that former Western Michigan forward Greg Lee is heading to Penn State to continue his college basketball career.  He had initially planned to return to WMU following the 2020-21 season but then opted to explore options through the transfer portal in April.

Lee is a 6-foot-9 forward who transferred to Western Michigan from CSU Bakersfield. He spent just one year with the Broncos.

Lee will join a Penn State team that is going through new leadership. The Nittany Lions announced the hire of former Purdue assistant coach Micah Shrewsberry to lead the program, replacing interim head coach Jim Ferry.

Ferry had replaced Pat Chambers, who resigned weeks before the start of the season.

“Committing to Penn State for me personally was a blessing,” Lee told ESPN. “No better way to push yourself and your limits than competing in the Big Ten.”

Lee averaged 13 points and 7.2 rebounds per game for the Broncos last season, earning honorable mention All-MAC honors.
