Favour Aire has found a home in the B1G after the Miami center announced on Instagram a commitment to play at Penn State.
A former 4-star recruit, Aire was the No. 119 player in the country in the class of 2022, according to the 247Sports Composite. Aire, who is originally from Nigeria and played in high school at Bishop McNamara (Maryland) has 3 years of eligibility remaining.
Aire appeared in 14 games last season for Miami, and he averaged 2.9 minutes per game. His career-high in points (6) and rebounds (3) both came in the Canes win over Louisville in December when he also played a career-high in minutes (10) in the same game as well. He didn’t play in any games during Miami’s run to the Final Four.
At Penn State, Aire will add depth at center behind Georgetown transfer Qudus Wahab and Demetrius Lilley.
Aire is the latest Aire portal addition for the Nittany Lions after VCU’s Ace Baldwin Jr. and Nick Kern, Temple’s Zach Hicks, North Carolina’s Puff Johnson, Lafayette’s Leo O’Boyle, Kansas City’s RayQuawndis Mitchell and Wahab.
