Pat Chambers is a head basketball coach again.

On Tuesday, Florida Gulf Coast officially announced that Chambers will be the new head men’s basketball coach. He was most recently an assistant coach at La Salle. He was previously the head coach at Penn State and Boston University.

The Eagles parted ways with Michael Fly following the 2021-22 campaign. He was with the program for four seasons.

Chambers was previously the head coach at Penn State from 2011-20. He stepped down just weeks before the start of the 2020-21 college basketball season.

During his time at Penn State, Chambers accumulated a 148-150 record with one CBI appearance after the 2013-14 season and an NIT championship in 2017-18. His best year came in 2019-20, leading the Nittany Lions to a 21-10 record and would’ve likely earned a bid to the NCAA Tournament, but it was canceled because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Prior to taking over at Penn State, Chambers spent two seasons at Boston University, where his two squads went 42-28 with one NCAA Tournament appearance.
