Former Penn State defensive end Yetur Gross-Matos has reportedly signed his rookie contract with the Carolina Panthers. On Tuesday, 247Sports reported that Gross-Matos’ agent confirmed that the ex-Nittany Lion has officially inked the deal.

Specifics regarding the contract were not mentioned, but according to Spotrac, Gross-Matos is projected to make $8.2 million over the next four years with a $3.5 million signing bonus.

Gross-Matos was a second-round selection in the 2020 NFL Draft, selected by the Panthers with the 38th overall pick. The defensive end opted to forgo his final season in Happy Valley to pursue his career at the professional level.

Last season, Gross-Matos totaled 15 tackles for loss and 9.5 sacks in 12 games for the Nittany Lions, helping leading the team to an 11-2 record. He registered 40 total stops and added 7 quarterback hurries to his stat sheet.

Gross-Matos ended his career at Penn State with 37 tackles for loss and 19.5 sacks.
