Former Penn State greats are announcing Nittany Lions' signees on first day of Early Signing Period
The introduction of the Early Signing Period has taken some of the buzz away from National Signing Day. As such, college programs need to do something to keep the event fresh and relevant.
Penn State has come up with a cool way to keep things trending, having former players announce their commits officially signing with the program. Leave it to James Franklin to come up with something interesting to make the mundane a little more interesting.
Penn State, with 15 verbal commits, has the No. 19 recruiting class in the nation according to 247Sports. The big names from the class including four-star offensive tackle Landon Tengwall, four-star wide receiver Lonnie White Jr. and three-star quarterback Christian Veilleux.
Nittany Lion alums who participated include KJ Hamler, Adrian Amos, Jason Cabinda and Allen Robinson, as well as a few others. It’s certainly a unique way to welcome new prospects to Happy Valley.
