A former Penn State linebacker has announced that he’s continuing his academic and athletic career at the FCS level.

On Monday, Dae’lun Darien announced via Twitter that he was committing to the University of Delaware. He decided to transfer out of Penn State following the 2018 season.

“The staff at the University of Delaware is giving me an unbelievable opportunity to finish living my dreams and earn two degrees,” Darien wrote on Twitter. “I cannot wait to get on campus!”

Darien appeared in nine games for the Nittany Lions in 2018 and totaled four tackles. In two seasons, he’s participated in 16 games in Happy Valley.

A native of Baltimore, Maryland, Darien is a former 3-star prospect who was a member of Penn State’s 2016 class. He will be immediately eligible to participate at the FCS level.
