Former Penn State quarterback Will Levis is heading to the SEC.

Levis announced on Friday afternoon that he is transferring to Kentucky.

Here’s the reveal:

Levis just wrapped up his sophomore season with the Nittany Lions. He played a decent amount in relief of starting QB Sean Clifford, but was more effective as a runner than as a passer. Levis completed 33-of-55 passes for 421 yards and a touchdown. He also carried the ball 82 times for 260 yards and three touchdowns.

Kentucky is a system that makes a lot of sense for Levis’ skillset. The Wildcats like to run with their quarterback — Terry Wilson carried the ball over 100 times in 2018 and 200.

Levis is the second Penn State quarterback to transfer out this cycle. Micah Bowens transferred to Oklahoma in January.

The Nittany Lions will have Clifford back in 2021, as well as redshirt sophomore Ta’Quan Roberson. PSU also signed 3-star Christian Veilleux in its 2021 recruiting class.
