Former Penn State tight end Nick Bowers came up big for the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday afternoon.

Facing a 3rd and 4 in the second half, Raiders quarterback Nathan Peterman found Bowers for a first down — but then it became much more.

He beat one defender to the edge and broke a tackle from another, turned up field and put it in the end zone for the Raiders’ only score of the game.

Here’s the play:

Bowers has yet to see action in a regular season NFL game. He went undrafted in the 2020 NFL Draft and spent last season on the Raiders’ practice squad.

Bowers had a productive career with the Nittany Lions. He peaked as a receiver in 2019, recording 10 catches for 214 yards and 3 touchdowns.

If Bowers does make the Raiders, it’s likely his NFL debut will come on Sept. 13 against the Baltimore Ravens.
