Former Penn State commit and Oregon Duck Donte Thornton Jr. announced Monday that he will be putting his name into the transfer portal. The 6-foot-5 deep threat caught 17 passes for 366 yards and 1 touchdown for the Ducks this season.

He announced his decision on Twitter Monday evening.

This is an interesting development for the Nittany Lions, who will need some receiver help next season. Thornton was committed to Penn State in 2021 before playing his freshman season at Oregon. He was a top 100 recruit and still has 2 years of eligibility remaining after playing his freshman and sophomore years at Oregon.

Definitely a player to keep an eye on.
