This could be a great development opportunity for Christian Hackenberg.

The former Penn State QB was drafted by the New York Jets in the second round of the 2016 NFL Draft but was never able to find the field there. Hackenberg was traded to the Oakland Raiders following the 2017 season, but he was waived shortly after.

Now, Hackenberg has signed with the Philadelphia Eagles. The Eagles confirmed the move on Twitter:

Hackenberg will likely not see any regular season action barring injuries. The Eagles have starter Carson Wentz returning from a knee injury this season, and he is backed up by Nick Foles who guided the team through the playoffs and to a Super Bowl.

In the end, the move does give Hackenberg another chance to develop his game with an NFL team. Hopefully he can find a place to stick moving forward.
