FOX Sports analyst RJ Young did not hold back when discussing Penn State on Monday. The analyst roasted the team for losing to Ohio State once again and criticized James Franklin for repeatedly falling short in big games.

Penn State began the Week 10 matchup as good as could have been expected. The team jumped out to an early 10-point lead but would only score 3 more points in the final 3 quarters.

“At this point, Penn State is a luxury Ohio State rental property, especially in the James Franklin era,” said Young. “Like an Airbnb in the Hamptons, it (Penn State) is routinely overvalued, overpriced, overrated, and leaves you feeling fleeced.”

To Young’s point, the Nittany Lions have routinely failed against the Buckeyes. Over the last 15 years, the Nittany Lions have only won against the Buckeyes 2 times. Franklin is 1-10 against the Buckeyes as the head coach of the Nittany Lions.

The Buckeyes aren’t the only team Franklin has struggled against. The coach is 13-27 against ranked opponents as the head coach of Penn State and is 1-1 against ranked opponents so far in 2024.

“The Nittany Lions are 0-5 against the Buckeyes and Wolverines since 2022 and 18-0 against all other Big Ten opponents,” Young explained.

The analyst even compared Franklin to former Buckeyes HC John Cooper. Cooper was notorious for never being able to beat Michigan.

Franklin’s squad still has just 1 loss, however, and will take on Washington in Week 11.
