It’s not easy to simulate the atmosphere of 105,000 people on a Saturday in Happy Valley. Recruits will never truly know what that’s like until they come out of that tunnel for the first time.

Well, James Franklin tried to give one recruit that experience in his home.

Four-star Penn State commit Shane Simmons hosted the Lions coach on Wednesday night. He got the next best thing to the full Penn State experience:

Simmons was one of several Penn State recruits that had in-home visits this week.

South Carolina commit Brandon Mcllwain, a four-star dual threat quarterback, hosted Penn State quarterbacks coach Ricky Rahne.

Another 2016 quarterback, three-star Jake Zembiec, also played host to the Lions coaching staff.

Zembiec and Simmons are already committed to Penn State, and it’s clear the Lions are doing everything they can during the pre-bowl period to keep it that way.
