Penn State maybe the biggest storyline in the B1G so far as they have navigated a fairly difficult early schedule. They beat Purdue on on opening night on the road in West Lafayette, and they just went into Auburn and crushed them on the plains 41-12.

Big Ten Network Analyst Gerry DiNardo had high praise for the Nittany Lions:

It was very impressive to see Penn State go on the road twice in hostile environments such as the blackout at Purdue, and going into the Plains and obliterate Auburn.

Penn State still has a plethora of good games on the schedule. They could make a case for the College Football Playoff if they could pull out wins against No. 4 Michigan, Minnesota, No. 3 Ohio State and No. 11 Michigan State plus a B1G Championship if they happen to get there.
