Micah Parsons’ NFL career is off to a great start.

Thursday night, the former Penn State star made his Dallas debut in the Hall of Fame Game against Pittsburgh. The first-round draft pick made an impact early in the contest, recovering a fumble on the first series of the contest.

When the game came to a close, Parsons ended the night with 3 tackles, all of which were solo stops. That wasn’t where the linebacker’s success ended, though.

According to Pro Football Focus’ grading from the first preseason game of the year, Parsons’ was the highest-graded Cowboy to take the field. He graded out at a 78.8 when the scoreboard hit zeroes.

Not a bad first showing for the rookie.

Parsons was a first-round selection by the Cowboys in the 2021 NFL Draft. He was considered to be one of the best defensive prospects of his class and is already proving it on the field.

Four of the past five winners of the Defensive Rookie of the Year of the Award has been won by a former B1G star — albeit all of those have come from Ohio State. Could Parsons be the fifth in six years?

There’s an entire season to be played, but his career is off to a strong start in Dallas.
