Gus Johnson and Joel Klatt are in Ann Arbor to call Week 7’s matchup between Indiana and Michigan. As Jim Harbaugh’s Wolverines continued to blow out the Hoosiers, the two broadcasters began a discussion about the best team in the B1G.

The conversation started with Johnson asking Klatt to pick his best team from Michigan, Ohio State and Penn State. Klatt notably likes the Wolverines and what they did on the line of scrimmage on either side of the ball.

“This team’s real good. I think this team’s better at the line of scrimmage (than Ohio State and Penn State),” Klatt said. “Most likely (better on both sides of the ball).”

Johnson couldn’t let that rest without a dig at James Franklin, trolling the head coach for his press conference comments about a B1G team buying out game contracts.

“Well, according to James Franklin, Michigan’s not playing anybody! They’re opting out of contracts,” exclaimed Johnson.

“Well, that’s pretty rich coming from a guy playing UMass this week,” Klatt responded. “And now my phone’s about to blow up.”

While some believe Franklin was taking a shot at Michigan or a different B1G program in his comments, Franklin has since shredded that narrative saying his comments were taken out of context by the media. Whether or not Franklin has a response to the FOX duo will be something to keep an eye on.
