Report: Penn State loses another member of staff to SEC
Penn State’s offseason of change continued.
Two days after defensive coordinator Bob Shoop left for Tennessee, another member of James Franklin’s staff is reportedly bolting for the SEC.
According to USA Today’s Dan Wolken, Penn State offensive line coach Herb Hand accepted the same position at Auburn.
The opening became available when Auburn’s previous offensive line coach, J.B. Grimes, left for Cincinnati. Hand spent time on Franklin’s staff at Vanderbilt before he got to Happy Valley.
The Lions did see a significant improvement in their ground game in the past two seasons, but nobody surrendered more sacks in the country than Penn State during that stretch.
Hand’s departure would be the third from Franklin’s staff since the end of the regular season, including both coordinators. In terms of positive offseason news, the Lions haven’t had much to speak of.
PSU's offseason so far:
*Hack, DT Johnson declare early
*OC Donovan fired
*Shoop lateral move
*Geno transfers
*Hand to AU?What's next?
