Penn State received some great news on the recruiting front on Tuesday morning, as one of the top junior college offensive linemen in the 2019 class gave his verbal pledge.

Anthony Whigan, a 6-foot-five, 290-pound offensive tackle out of Lackawanna Community College announced his commitment to the Nittany Lions on Tuesday morning. He becomes the 16th commitment of the 2019 class for James Franklin and Co.

Whigan made his announcement via Twitter.

The addition of Whigan propels Penn State’s recruiting class to No. 11 nationally and second in the B1G, according to 247Sports. Ohio State currently owns the conference’s top class.

Whigan is also the second player from Lackawanna Community College to commit to the Lions, joining teammate and 3-star safety Jaquan Brisker.

Whigan is a 4-star offensive tackle and is ranked as the 13th-best junior college prospect in the 2019 recruiting class. He’s also the third-ranked offensive tackle.
