A few days after dismantling Pitt and winning the in-state battle, Penn State chalked up another victory in Pennsylvania.

Tuesday morning, the Nittany Lions received a commitment from 4-star defensive back Joey Porter Jr. The Allegheny native is ranked as a top 30 cornerback and the No. 1 player from the state, according to 247Sports.

Porter made his announcement via Twitter on Tuesday.

Porter becomes the 16th commitment for Penn State in the 2019 recruiting class. The Nittany Lions are now up to No. 14 in the national rankings and No. 2 in the B1G.

He’s the 13th player in the class with a 4- or 5-star rating.

Porter had 16 total offers, including LSU, Nebraska, Miami, Pitt, Maryland and Rutgers.
