O’Brien is currently Alabama’s offensive coordinator as the Tide prepares for a national title matchup vs. SEC rival Georgia. In his first season with the program, O’Brien’s unit has produced at least 40 points in 9 of the team’s 14 games.
O’Brien compiled a 15-9 overall record and 10-6 record in conference play during his time at Penn State from 2012-13. O’Brien then coached the Houston Texans from 2014-2020, guiding the team to the playoffs 4 times.
Additionally, if Jim Harbaugh elects to return to the pros, Michigan is also reportedly interested in O’Brien.
