James Franklin arrives at high school football game via helicopter
James Franklin and the Nittany Lions are in the midst of a bounce back season, and when you’re the head coach of a successful program, you arrive at places with a little more flair.
Franklin took to the air to attend a Virginia high school during the team’s bye week. He arrived in style by way of helicopter at Varina High School to check on their football program.
The reason for the visit was not made official. However, Varina is home to 2023 4-star linebacker Kaveion Keys, who is committed to North Carolina. Penn State has been involved in his recruitment, so they could be pushing for a flip. Varina had a game against Armstrong High School to which Franklin have been in attendance for.
Either way, it is good to see head coaches visit high schools, whether it be for a recruit, or just a pep talk.
Franklin and the Nittany Lions are looking to get back to the B1G contender that they were before the 2020 season.
With wins over Purdue and Auburn, Penn State sits at No. 10 with a matchup against No. 4 Michigan in Week 7 up next. The Nittany Lions will be knocking on the door of a B1G title if they can pull off the upset.
