James Franklin commented on the offseason Nicholas Singleton and Kaytron Allen had at Wednesday’s presser. Singleton and Allen are gearing up for year number two at Penn State.

The Penn State RB duo started off their college careers on a high note. Singleton and Allen combined for 1,928 yards rushing in the Nittany Lions backfield last season. Finding the endzone wasn’t a problem either, as they also combined for 24 total touchdowns.

Franklin stated that the pair is different now after an off-season’s worth of growth. Franklin noted that both had really good camps last year.

“I think obviously they had really good years in camp last year, but they’re different now,” Franklin said.

If what Franklin says is true, fans might see an even better version of the backfield pairing this season.

The Nittany Lions open the year with a game with West Virginia on Sept. 2. Kickoff will be at 7:30 p.m. ET on NBC.
