James Franklin: CFB season 'just one long day with a bunch of naps in between'
No one knows about the grind of a long college football season better than head coaches.
Once fall practice begins, the season comes at you fast. Between preparing for opponents, recruiting on the road, and dealing with other issues as they arise, there’s very little downtime until the action is over.
After Wednesday’s practice, Penn State head coach James Franklin admitted that the routine of the season certainly helps the team settle in and push through in November. In fact, he said today wasn’t even really Wednesday as the season is actually just one long day with some naps thrown in.
Onward Sports shared his post-practice comments:
Franklin on maintaining focus late in the year: "For me, the routine just kind of helps. Right now, it's not Wednesday — the season is just one long day with a bunch of naps in between."

Franklin also discussed Penn State’s upcoming game against Indiana, the fifth straight that will be a tough one for the Nittany Lions. He also pointed out that Penn State’s group of WRs know they need to step up moving forward.
Franklin: "We've had four very challenging games in a row, and this will now be our fifth. And [Indiana] is coming off their bye week."

Franklin said the receivers beyond KJ Hamler and Jahan Dotson know they need to be better and have looked good in practice.
