James Franklin is a big fan of Tyler Warren. The tight end has done it all for the Nittany Lions in 2024 and will go down as a program legend.

Unfortunately, Warren is a redshirt senior in 2024 and will likely be playing in the NFL next season. With the TE carrying as much weight as he has this season, the team will need to find other playmakers for 2025.

After the Nittany Lions win over Maryland to wrap up the regular season, Franklin offered an awkward solution to the problem of losing Warren.

“I’m going to try to convince his parents, send them on one of those little romantic vacations up in the Poconos, and try to convince his parents to have more,” joked Franklin. “I don’t know if that’ll happen.”

It’s not every day that you hear a coach propose something like that, but Franklin has never been known to bite his tongue.

Warren had another great game in Week 14 to end the regular season. The TE caught 6 passes for 68 yards and 1 TD and also rushed 3 times for 32 yards. The versatile athlete even completed 1 pass for 9 yards in the blowout.

Franklin will have Warren on his team for at least 2 more games. The Nittany Lions will play the Oregon Ducks in the Big Ten Championship Game and then will presumably be in the College Football Playoff. This is the first time since 2016 that the team has clinched an appearance in the Big Ten Championship Game.

The Nittany Lions and Ducks will kick off from Indianapolis on Saturday at 8:00 p.m. ET.
