Nittany Lions head coach James Franklin is still being quiet when it comes to Penn State’s quarterback situation.

During his press conference on Wednesday evening, Franklin confirmed that nothing has been decided yet going into next Saturday’s game against Illinois.

There’s been no update on Sean Clifford after he exited the game against Iowa on Saturday with an arm injury. Both Ta’Quran Roberson and Christian Veilleux have been splitting the 1st team reps in practice this week.

Roberson would likely start if Clifford can’t go against Illinois even though his outing against Iowa left a bit more to be desired. Roberson finished with just 34 yards passing on 7 completions with 2 interceptions.

Granted, he did go up against one of the best defenses in the country but in the big moments, he faded a bit.

Now if Veilleux impresses more than Roberson in practice, it’s possible that he could start next Saturday’s game (assuming Clifford is still injured).

That game against Illinois will be a Noon ET kickoff from State College.
