James Franklin dismisses notion Penn State could be overlooking UMass
James Franklin doesn’t even want to think about Ohio State until the UMass game ends.
Franklin spoke at a radio show Thursday and denied the idea that Penn State is overlooking UMass with Ohio State up next on the schedule.
He didn’t even mention Columbus in his response when someone asked how preparation is affected with Ohio State next on the schedule. He assured everyone that the team is solely focused on the Minutemen.
“I’m not sure what you’re talking about,” said Franklin. “You mentioned some location next week. … We’re completely focused on UMass.”

Penn State fans are already writing off the UMass game as a win, which is expected. Ohio State has been a problem for the Nittany Lions lately, however. Ohio State is on a six-game winning streak against Penn State dating back to 2016.
It’ll be interesting to see how this works out for Franklin against the Buckeyes. The last time that Penn State and UMass played was in 2014.
Franklin wants to take the “out of sight, out of mind” approach before the matchup with Ohio State.
