James Franklin emphatically praises Tyler Warren as unquestioned best TE in CFB
James Franklin and the Penn State Nittany Lions are having a great Week 14 after picking up a convincing 44-7 win against Maryland.
The win was even more significant after Ohio State was upset by Michigan. With the Buckeyes’ loss, the Nittany Lions will be taking on Oregon next weekend in the B1G Championship Game.
One of the biggest reasons the Nittany Lions are having the season they are has been the play of tight end Tyler Warren, who is as good of a tight end as there is in college football. After the game, Franklin was asked if Warren is the best tight end in college football, and Franklin said it isn’t even a question.
“It’s not like it’s a question, you’re asking me like it’s a question,” Franklin said after the game. “He’s the best TE in college football, he’s one of the best players in college football regardless of position. He does it week in and week out. Everybody knows he’s getting the ball, and they still have a hard time stopping him. He’s what college football is all about.”
In the win against Maryland, Warren had 6 catches for 68 yards and 1 touchdown. He also delivered 32 rushing yards for the Nittany Lions and completed a pass for 9 yards.
On the year, he has 75 catches for 910 yards and 5 touchdowns, and he is playing his best football as of late. He has had at least 6 catches in 6 of his last 7 games.
