James Franklin spoke about how durable Sean Clifford is this season. The Athletic’s Audrey Snyder posted what Franklin said on social media.

Clifford missed some time last season due to injury in 2021, and hurt the Nittany Lions chances of competing for a B1G title.

Clifford has not missed a game yet and is looking good so far this season. Clifford has 890 yards passing with 12 total touchdowns and 1 interception.

Franklin is being cautious with Clifford this time around. The Penn State HC talked about just how valuable Clifford has been season.

“He’s been good,” said Franklin. “The way we’ve been able to get him out of almost every game, that’s valuable. So far, so good. He’s in a really good position, probably as good as he’s been at this point in the season.”

Franklin has using more second-team players this season to prevent injuries at key positions like quarterback. It’s been paying off to this point in the season.

Clifford will get another chance to show how durable he can be on Saturday with Northwestern coming to town.
