Penn State is off to a good start in Saturday’s White Out, carrying a 14-10 lead into halftime.

One of the stories of the first half against Auburn has been the play of receiver Jahan Dotson. He has a touchdown to his credit, and he has also produced an insane highlight-reel grab and a completion on a trick play.

Unfortunately, the other story of the first half has been an incredible gaffe by the SEC officiating crew working the game. Early in the game, the officials mistakenly marked Penn State for facing a fourth-down play when it was actually third down.

Heading into halftime, head coach James Franklin was asked about the definition he received from the officiating crew, and all Franklin could muster was a disgruntled look. Beyond that, Franklin remained speechless about the blunder.
