James Franklin issues response to former Penn State team doctor's lawsuit
Yesterday, news broke that former Penn State team doctor Dr. Scott A. Lynch was filing a lawsuit against Penn State University and head football coach James Franklin.
Lynch essentially said that Franklin was trying to get players who got hurt back onto the field quicker than what Lynch believed was medically correct. Lynch is seeking $50,000 in damages from the university in his suit.

On Tuesday, Franklin spoke during a teleconference and issued a response on the matter:
“We’ll continue to vigorously defend our program,” Franklin said. “(…) Penn State Health issued a statement rejecting Dr. Lynch’s claims. We’ll continue to vigorously defend our program and all the participants in this manner. As always, the health and well-being of our student athletes is of utmost importance to us. Other than that, we will have no comment.”
Lynch has said that his removal from the university took place because of his complaints over Franklin’s alleged actions. His suit also claims that he was removed by the university in order to avoid scandal.
If there is truth to Lynch’s claims, the scandal is only getting started.
