James Franklin makes statement regarding demeaning letter sent to Penn State player
On Monday night, news broke that a man and a wife who attended Penn State sent a demeaning letter to current Nittany Lions player Jonathan Sutherland.

The letter in its entirety can be seen in the link above. But what essentially was said was that Sutherland should clean up his “awful hair” and that he must “represent all Penn Staters both current and those alumni from years past.”
On Tuesday, after the story became national news, Penn State coach James Franklin made a statement on the matter during his weekly press conference:

Franklin talks about how the football that he knows brings people together. He said that it embraces differences, regardless of skin color, wealth, religious views, political views, etc.
To keep it short, we couldn’t agree more with Franklin. We love football, and part of that love comes from sharing it with others — regardless of where they come from or what they look like.
