James Franklin recognizes that after this weekend in Ann Arbor there is going to be a lot of outside noise for Penn State to cope with. Franklin admitted that it’s difficult to hide that noise from the players.

Per Onward Sports’s official Twitter account:

Franklin also referenced the 2016 season where early on they lost to Michigan by 39 points and still found a way to end the season with 11 wins.  He made it clear that it’s important to take it week by week after a big loss. He also referred to how Penn State wasn’t the only undefeated team to lose last week.

Against Michigan, starting quarterback Sean Clifford had one of his worst performances this season and a lot of noise was made about switching to freshman Drew Allar. Coach Franklin even addressed it by reaffirming that it was Clifford’s job and he “earned it.”

Penn State will face Minnesota at home in a 7:30 pm ET night game where Franklin hopes to bounce back.
