James Franklin isn’t giving any definitive answers on the status of star quarterback Drew Allar as Ohio State Week began in earnest on Monday.

During his weekly press conference on Monday, the Penn State head coach could only tell reporters what he knows now and, well, it’s going to be a long week of wondering for Nittany Lions fans about the availability of their starting QB. Allar injured his left knee late in the 1st half of Saturday night’s 28-13 victory at Wisconsin after he landed awkwardly while getting sacked on Penn State’s last series of the 2nd quarter.

Allar did not play in the 2nd half, as backup Beau Pribula took over and guided the 3rd-ranked Nittany Lions to the victory to get to 7-0.

“He’s played enough football for us that that (injury) timeline will go all the way up to the game, really,” said Franklin about Allar’s Week 10 status. “I do think from a practice perspective, no matter where we’re at on Tuesday, we’re going to have to get both of those guys reps on Tuesday and Wednesday. But it’s too early to tell, really.”

Sounds like a lot of eyes will be on Pribula this week no matter what happens with Allar.

“The reality is we’re going to have both guys ready, and you could make the argument have all three guys ready, which is challenging to do in a game week is to try to get all those guys ready,” said Franklin. “I do think Drew has played enough football that it will go all the way up to game time before we make that decision.”

Buckle up, Penn State fans. It’s going to be an interesting 5 days before the 4th-ranked Buckeyes come calling for the noon ET kickoff on FOX.
